The young pianist Elitsa Stefanova from Vratsa, Bulgaria, has been playing the piano since she was a small child. Her gift is widely recognized – she wins a prize in every competition in which she participates. Despite being diagnosed with incurable blindness as a child, she continues to develop her musical talent. Second phase of the piano instruments renewal at Hristina Morfova Music School

In their professional development, young musicians need high quality training, which is provided by qualified teachers and a good technical base. Unfortunately, the pianos available in the city’s music school are outdated and of poor quality, some of them without a full set of keys, but the students are forced to play on them. Fourteen pianos need to be replaced in order for quality lessons to be held. Mihaela Stefanova – Founder

Mihaela obtained her Masters degree in Music from the Hochschule der Künste Bern and her Bachelors degree from the Music Academy Pancho Vladigerov, Bulgaria. Mihaela currently performs as a keyboard player with the Sankt Gallen Symphony Orchestra and also plays with various chamber music ensembles. In founding the Schweizerisch-Bulgarischer Kulturverein she aims to translate the Swiss model of developing the cultural lives of youngsters through art activities to her home country, Bulgaria.
